With the new update: Reign of the Warlock, the format of save files has changed. So currently it's not possible to edit Reign of the Warlock save files.

Is there support for save files that dont have the new DLC? I am now able to load into D2R without it crashing, but cannot access the character because it says "missing required account entitlement reign of the warlock". Which I'm assuming means that using the editor now changes the save file so it only works if you have the DLC
Hello Prowner, I have not been able to buy the RotW expansion so far and plan to wait for a sale. However, I'd like to report an issue. Whilst editing was not possible a few days back, it now is possible with a caveat : since I don't have the DLC, anything I edit with the editor now becomes unplayable due to the editor assuming every one that upgraded does indeed have the DLC. Is there a possibility that a toggle could be implanted to make it possible for us waiting a bit to buy the DLC to use the editor? Because an edit now just paywalled me behind buying the damn DLC now if I want to be able to access my highest character again, which is far from what I wanted to do.

I would like to add that when I pick the save file version 2.5, it downgrades it to regular Diablo 2 without 1st expansion. Am I missing something?
Update: Disregard, I'm an idiot. But to anyone else that somehow misses it, make sure to toggle on the expansion. Apparently when I chose an earlier version, it unchecked it even though the character was created with it.
